Electric brake
controllers Ipswich

Towing a caravan, horse float or trailer over 750 kg? An electric brake controller isn't optional — and a properly fitted, calibrated one makes towing safer and smoother.

Electric Brake Controllers

What we do

As REDARC Rednetwork members we fit the Tow-Pro range every week, along with other quality controllers. We mount the control knob where you can actually reach it, wire it correctly to the vehicle and trailer, and calibrate it with your trailer hitched so the brakes work with the car, not against it.

  • REDARC Tow-Pro Elite, Liberty and Classic supply and fitting
  • Other brake controller brands fitted
  • Trailer-side brake wiring and magnets checked
  • Breakaway unit wiring and testing
  • Calibration and road test with your trailer
  • Trailer plug and Anderson plug fitting at the same time

Sound familiar?

  • Trailer brakes grabbing, or not braking at all
  • Bought a bigger van and need a controller fitted
  • Existing controller intermittent or wired badly
  • Dash-mounted controller in the way of your knees

Common questions

Do I legally need an electric brake controller?

In Queensland, trailers with a GTM over 750 kg need brakes, and over 2,000 kg they must be able to operate from the driver's seat and have a breakaway system — which means an electric brake controller.

Which brake controller is best?

The REDARC Tow-Pro Elite is our go-to: it hides away, has a small dash knob and works in both proportional and user-controlled modes. We'll recommend based on what you tow.

How long does fitting take?

Usually a few hours, depending on the vehicle. If we're also fitting a trailer plug or Anderson plug we'll do it all in one visit.
